My name is Alexandra and I am half Austrian half Greek, my husband Davydd is Canadian. We are both actors , directors and acting teachers. We speak mainly English at home. (But I also speak German and French) We both teach acting in our own little acting studio and also work in Voice overs. We have recently adopted 10 month old Noah form Ethiopia who is an amazing little boy. Very bright and needing a lot of attention as he is curious and almost ready to walk.... As we are a little older (I am 51 an Davydd is 40) It is quite a handful for us, so we thought that an Au Pair would be a great idea. We are fairly easy going and very open minded and will gladly welcome you in our family if you are honest intelligent helpful and considerate. If you like you can also participate in Davydd's amateur acting class once a week which is in English. We are as we said very flexible and don't really care which hours of the day you look after Noah as long as we know that we have a few free hours to look forward to. It would however be nice it if can be some mornings (as he doesn't sleep through the night yet) and some afternoons. Occasionally we go to our holiday house on the island of Aigina near Athens for a few days or a long weekend, which is absolutely beautiful and where you will also have your own room and bathroom. You will be expected to come with us....and frankly you will love it! It would be nice if you are artistically inclined ..but I guess it doesn’t matter!
We are looking for an educated, intelligent, gentle ,patient friendly, clean ,easy going person to live in with us and take care of our now 10 month old adopted baby boy Noah, who is very bright and active. We will ask you to take care of him for about 5 hours a day and help out with some house chores as any family member would do..but nothing major. We are only putting this down because we want to be clear that everybody does their bit in the house and cleans up after themselves. So the occasional washing up or hanging the laundry or maybe run an errand at the shops while on an outing with Noah. Things like that. No major cleaning as we have a cleaner who comes in every 14 days. The hours of the day can be negotiated according to everyones needs and preferences. We are very flexible as we work a lot from home. We are basically looking for some "free" hours during our day so that we can do what we need to do with no interruption. We are at home almost every evening so your evenings will be 99% free. We provide food and board, your own sunny but simple room with a double mattress on the floor , a desk, shelves, wardrobe, access to the lovely veranda and your own small bathroom. We have wifi of course. We will expect you to play with our son, take care of him, change him while on your "shift" take him for walks in the pram and teach him while playing. We have limited finances but I think we can manage 100 E per month. If you like you can also have another job as long as we negotiate the times and you can be Ok with your duties with us. As I said..we are flexible….and you will of course have a day off ! (at least!) WE are considering an Au {air for the whole of July which we will almost entirely spend on the island....but that would only be for 1 month as we will then leave for Canada for Noah to meet the rest of the family. WE will be back and needing an Au Pair again around the beginning of September where we are planning to spend about 2 weeks on the island and then come back to Athens. So we can not provide employment in August.
