We’re a family of four. We have two children, a girl of 10 and a boy of 8. We live in a nice flat in Sant Cugat, a town 15 km from Barcelona. We both work there. Me i am economist and work as brand manager in the banking sector, imy husband is an architect and work as consultant for AECO industry. We live in a very nice flat close to the center of Sant Cugat, a 70 k people town at 15 km from Barcelona. The flat is a condominium, we have a common swimming pool, and, as we live in the ground floor, we also have a small private garden. At 50 m from home we have a nice park for playing cycling and running. Sant Cugat downtown is only 10 min walking, there you can find restaurants and shops. Sant Cugat is such a nice place for outdoors activities, parks, tennis court, horse riding and a small golf course. The nearest beach is only 15 min driving. Barcelona downtown is only 30 min by train and we live only 10 min walking from the station.
We need to start on the end of june and, at least, stay with us until the second week of august. Your main goals as au pair at home are • Take care of our children and collaborate in their education during the time you spend with them • Help them to improve their English skills For us is crucial that you are able to be responsible and organize yourself in the daily tasks related with them. We expect someone responsible, polite and kind with them and us, and neat and tidy in every detail. In a normal working day we leave home at 7.30 am and return at some time between 4 and 6 pm, depends on the day. An assistant is coming home every day at 4.00 pm to do household duties. That means that your daily routine include: • Wake up the kids at some time between 8 and 8.30 in the morning • Have breakfast with them • Make sure they do their beds as they get dressed • Make sure they do some summer homework (according to the school schedule) • Plan activities for the day (crafts, games, swimming pool, playing in the park or whatever outdoor activity you think) • Have lunch with them around (and depending on the day do the cooking) Your duty, normally, ends at 4.00 pm, when the assistant arrives at home. On weekends you have no duties. You can join the family in whatever we do, summers weekends are fun for us, we use to go to the beach or go out for dinner on satudays. If you prefer you can organize yourself, you have lot of choices and we can help you on that.
