Dear Au pair We hope you want to become our next Au pair and have a great time together! We live in a nice house in cycling distance to one of Netherlands most beautiful beaches. The town, where we live has a large expat community with lots of other au pairs from around the world, very good sport facilities, possibilities for language courses and much more. You will have plenty of spare time to spend on your hobbies and to explore The Netherlands and surrounding countries. About us We are a happy, very social and easy-going Austrian family with two kids. Our international work has made us moving around for the last 12 years. We lived in Sweden (our daughter was born there), Switzerland (where our son was born) and are now enjoying the Netherlands since 4 years. We like to travel, do excursions, be out with the kids, play board games, watch movies and to have friends around. Our daughter Linnea is a kind, gentle and open-minded girl. She likes to sing, attend drama classes, swimming, horseback riding, Harry Potter and to have fun with her friends. She is entering 5th grade in August 2017 and has after school activities 2-3 times a week. Our son Nils is a charming and active boy. He loves dinosaurs, cars, swimming, playing with his friends and to be out on the playground. He sings and roars a lot and likes to pretend that he is a scary animal, a Superhero or a Ninjago. He is now in pre-school entering Kindergarden. Both kids have English as their main language, but are encouraged by us to also practice their Swedish, German and Dutch.
A typical day looks like follows: In the morning you prepare the snack boxes for the kids and bring Nils to school. After that you might help with some housework such as emptying the dishwasher or washing machine, ironing or vacuum cleaning, which will not take long. Usually you then have 5-6 hours spare time until you pick up both or one of the kids again and play with them or support with homework until we come home at latest 6pm. Most important for us is that you have fun with the kids and can think about activities with them other than the IPad or TV. During the week we are taking turns with cooking dinner and help each other out to make the mornings and evenings as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Most important for us is that you LOVE to be with kids :-). Ideally you have worked with kids before or want to do so in the future. You best fit to us if you are full of energy, eager to learn and discover, used to taking responsibility, caring and helpful. So far we welcomed 4 Au pairs and treated them as important part of our family. We enjoy, if you are open in becoming the best friend or older sister to our kids, helping them and us to better manage our busy daily schedule so we have more time left to spend together on fun things.
