Meet Estelle (4 years old) and Lieve (7 years old)! They love to laugh, play and have fun with each other and their friends! We live in a green and family friendly suburb in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. There are two smaller shopping centres and several cafes and restaurants nearby (a 15 minute walk from our house) from where you can take a bus to the city centre, to the beach or to several larger shopping malls. We have been living in Sydney for the last 7 years, and we have been hosting au pairs for the last 5 years. We both work full time (Marie in wine & spirits, Eelko in tourism) and get home at around 6:45 pm. Lieve is starting net ball this school term, and Estelle is following a music course. Both girls also have swimming lessons, and follow dutch classes once a week. We like to stay fit as much as we can with our busy schedules, and Marie is also into yoga. We like to take the kids out for long walks in the weekends. Our au pairs are more than welcome to join us for any activities we may have planned for the weekends, but there is no obligation (most of the time you will probably make your own plans for the weekend!). At home Marie (originally from France) and Eelko (originally from Holland) will speak in english with each other, but we will speak French and Dutch with the girls. We love animals, but we have no pets at home.
You are ideally available on or before the second week of June, but no later than July 1st. You are also looking to stay with us until at least mid February (ca 7-8 months)! You will have 3 weeks of (paid) holidays during this time. Concretely, you will help us by getting the kids ready for (pre) school, taking care of them after school, encouraging them to play or do some homework with them, bringing them to any after-school activities (eg. swimming classes), and by preparing the family meals. On Thursdays and Fridays, you will look after Estelle for the whole day. On the other school days Estelle goes to pre-school. Lieve goes to a local primary school 5 days a week.
