Personal introduction

Dear Host Family, Hello! My name is Ayo, but everyone calls me Ayu. I come from Atambua, Indonesia, a beautiful town located right on the border with Timor-Leste. For most of my life, my world has been centered around my home and family, where I happily work alongside my mother as a cook in our family restaurant. However, I have a deep, heartfelt dream: at least once in my life, I want to step out, see how big and beautiful this world is, and experience different cultures. This strong desire to grow and explore is what inspired me to apply for the Au Pair program. I am a reliable, patient, and easygoing person with a good sense of humor. I am also quite creative—I even love rearranging my bedroom layout whenever I feel like the atmosphere is getting too monotonous! I am not demanding and can easily adapt to new environments and routines. I would love to be hosted by your family because I am genuinely eager to help you take care of your children while sharing a warm cultural exchange. I am ready to bring my dedication, positive energy, and love for family into your home. I live surrounded by a big family, so interacting with children is a big part of my daily life. I regularly spend time with my neighbors' children, my cousins, and especially my nephews. Two of my nephews, Arshaka and Abian, are incredibly close to me. They even gave me a special nickname: "Mayo," which means "Mama Ayo." One of our sweetest daily traditions is that as soon as they wake up in the morning, they run straight to my bedroom and cheerfully call out, "Mayo!" Spending time with them—playing, laughing, and watching them grow—always brings me so much joy. Through these experiences, I have learned how to be attentive, patient, and playful with children, making sure they always feel safe and happy. In short, I am a hardworking, creative, and cheerful person who loves bringing joy to the people around me. Cooking is a big part of my life since I help my mother in our restaurant, and I would love to cook some delicious Indonesian dishes for your family! In my free time, I enjoy creative projects like interior rearranging and engaging with children in fun activities. After completing my journey as an Au Pair, I hope to return to Indonesia with a broader mindset, fluent language skills, and wonderful memories.
