Personal introduction
I want to become an Au Pair because I love working with kids, being in new environments, and learning. I grew up dancing competitively, which eventually led me to become an instructor of varying styles of dance for my hometown studio. I have taught ages from four to fourteen in the classroom. Teaching dance, especially for younger ages, demands a great deal of patience and resilience. At my studio, I was expected to teach anywhere from four to ten students at a time. You have to know how to interact and relate with everyone of them, while keeping their attention and being in control of the room. You must see when a plan isn't working, assess the situation, and reframe your plans on the spot. These experiences have taught me how to engage with children in a supportive and positive way, while also giving me insight into different learning styles and needs. I’m excited to bring that knowledge into a new cultural setting as an Au Pair, where I can continue learning from the children I care for and the family I live with, while also contributing to their lives in a meaningful way.
