Personal introduction

Dear Future Host Family, It makes me so happy to be writing this letter! My name is Julia, and I’m 18 years old. I’m from Zaragoza, a large and beautiful city in Spain (where I currently live). I live with my parents and my two older brothers. I think that being the youngest of all has increased my desire to work with children. Currently, I’m in my last year of high school. I’m taking science courses in order to enter university next year and hopefully get into the degree I’m most passionate about. At school, I take English and German classes, as I’m really interested in learning new languages and breaking down any barriers possible. I’ve always loved spending time with children. Even though I don’t have formal experience as a babysitter, I’m very involved at school, especially with younger students. I help organize activities for new students so they can meet each other and adapt as best as possible to their new environment. One of my biggest passions is basketball, which I dedicate a lot of time to. I play at a regional competitive level, and my teammates are like a second family to me. I love being part of a team and having such wonderful people to rely on. I also enjoy music, dancing, watching movies and series, and reading. I have a strong interest in politics and social issues, and I’m always open to learning new things. Traveling is also something I’m really passionate about. During my school years, I took part in two exchange programs (one in Germany and one in Finland), where I stayed with host families. I absolutely loved discovering new places and meeting such welcoming people. Actually, I’m still in contact with them three years later! That’s why moving into a new home abroad doesn’t sound difficult for me at all. When it comes to my personality, I’d say I’m a really enthusiastic and open-minded person. I love helping others, talking, and spending time with my friends and family. I believe that my positive energy and my eagerness to learn make me a great fit for this experience. The reason I decided to apply for this is to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. Taking care of children and discovering a new country and culture is everything I need. Also, I believe that this experience will help me grow as a person and develop in ways no other experience could. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’d love to become a part of your family!
