Personal introduction

Hello dear host family! My name is Mendrika, I’m 25 years old, originally from Madagascar, and have been living in Indonesia for the past few years while pursuing my Master’s degree in Business Management. I’m very excited about the opportunity to become an au pair and to support a kind and welcoming family like yours. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and supporting their growth. I’ve had the chance to be a guest teacher in schools twice, where I introduced children to the culture, language, and traditions of Madagascar through fun and interactive sessions. Additionally, as a first-born, I have experience taking care of my younger siblings and cousins back home, which has helped me develop patience, responsibility, and a nurturing nature. I’ve also had experience babysitting, which further strengthened my ability to be attentive, caring, and patient in supporting children’s daily needs. I speak Malagasy, English, French and Indonesian, and I’m always eager to improve and learn new languages—especially the one spoken in your country. I truly enjoy sharing my own culture while also discovering new ones, and I believe this kind of cultural exchange is what makes the au pair experience so meaningful. In my free time, I enjoy singing, cooking, and exploring new places. Whether it’s a local market, a park, or a cultural event, I love discovering something new and learning from my surroundings. I consider myself responsible, warm-hearted, hard-working, and open-minded, and I’m happy to help with light household tasks while being a caring big sister figure to your children.
