Personal introduction
Dear family,
My name is Lucia, I'm a 21-year-old girl from Spain and currently studying Pedagogy at university. I also have a diploma in Social Integration and over two years of experience working with children in schools and summer camps.
I am passionate about education, child development, and creating a positive and caring environment for kids. I love playing, being creative, and helping children express themselves through games, stories, and everyday learning moments.
I’m looking for a welcoming family in the Netherlands to spend the month of August with as an au pair. I'm open, friendly, responsible and excited to experience your culture while helping with childcare and light household tasks. I speak Spanish (native), English (intermediate–advanced), and I’m always happy to learn more!
I truly enjoy spending time with children of all ages, and I’m confident that I can offer not only a helping hand but also a kind presence in your home. I hope to become part of your daily life and create a warm, respectful connection with your family.
Thank you so much for reading my profile. I’d love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have!
Warm regards,
Lucia
I would describe myself as a responsible, caring and cheerful person. I’m very patient and calm, especially when working with children, and I always try to bring a positive attitude to everything I do.
I’m naturally curious and creative — I love coming up with fun games, crafts or little activities to keep kids engaged and happy. I also enjoy having meaningful conversations, listening, and connecting with others.
People often tell me that I’m mature for my age, but at the same time, I’m playful and full of energy when I’m around children. I’m very organised, respectful of routines, and I try to adapt easily to new environments.
I believe that being an au pair is not just about helping, but also about sharing — culture, experiences, and human connection.
I come from a warm and lively family of six — I have three sisters, two older than me and one younger, who is 12 years old. Growing up surrounded by sisters has made me very used to sharing, helping, and of course, lots of laughter and play!
I love spending time with my youngest sister — we often play games, do crafts together, or just talk about her day. I feel this has helped me understand children better and be more patient, empathetic and fun with them.
We also have two cats at home, so I’m very used to animals and would be happy to help with pets if needed.
My family is very close, supportive and we enjoy spending time together, whether it’s having dinner, watching movies, or going for walks. Thanks to them, I’ve learned the value of kindness, cooperation and respect — values I carry with me in everything I do.
I am currently studying a university degree in Pedagogy (Education Studies), as I’m passionate about learning, teaching and supporting children's development.
Before that, I completed a Higher Vocational Degree in Social Integration, where I gained knowledge and tools to support people in different social contexts, especially children and young people with diverse needs. I also hold a Nursing Assistant Certificate, which has given me basic healthcare skills and experience in caregiving.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked in several schools and summer camps, including two years working in a school lunchroom and after-school care. I also completed a full year of internship in a secondary school. These experiences helped me understand how to connect with children of different ages, manage routines, and create a safe, supportive atmosphere.
All this background makes me confident and comfortable when taking care of children — not just for fun, but also with an educational and empathetic approach.
I decided to become an au pair because I truly love working with children and I’m excited about the idea of discovering a new culture in a meaningful way. Being part of a family, sharing everyday moments, and supporting children as they grow is something that makes me feel fulfilled and happy.
For me, this is not just a summer job — it’s a personal and professional experience. I want to learn from a different way of living, improve my English, and gain more experience with children in an international setting.
I believe that becoming an au pair is a beautiful exchange: I offer my time, care and energy, and in return I get to learn, grow and create memories with your family. I hope to bring joy, support and positive energy into your home during the time we share.
