Personal introduction

Dear potential host family, About me, well, my name is Khate. Never been married, without any own children. I am 25 years old. I studied for 4 years for a B.S. in Information Technology. I have 8 family members. My dad and 7 siblings. I have been a domestic helper in Kowloon, Hong Kong, from November 2023 until December 2024. My main duties in Hong Kong are taking care of an elderly 93-year-old man. I assist with activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Ensure his personal hygiene is maintained, help him with mobility and transferring if necessary, help him do exercises, and push his wheelchair. My duty is night and morning, but that is alternate. I am also responsible with some cooking, cleaning the house, bathroom/toilet, ceiling and wall, sink, window, vacuuming the floors, mopping the floors, washing the dishes, and cleaning some appliances like the microwave, electric fan, heater, exhaust fan, aircon filter. Wash and iron clothes, go to the market, feed the cat and birds. My salary is HK$4,730 every month, and I have 1 day off once a week, every Saturday. I start my duties at 6:40 a.m., and I finish all duties at 8:00 p.m. onwards, but it depends if I am not in the hospital with the elderly man. My childcare experience is taking care of my niece. Helping her with her school homework. Play together. Assist her in taking a bath, changing clothes, feeding her, packing her lunch box, and preparing her school bag, and take her to school. Teach her how to read and write. I wish to be an Au pair because I would like to become accustomed to your culture, get to know the life and language of your country, and experience your family’s traditions and lifestyle and become part of your family, taking care of your children and helping with household chores. I am an independent worker. I can multitask between childcare and housekeeping duties. I am also a patient, adaptable, and attentive helper who really loves children and enjoys the company of children, and I believe this is what is most important to you as a parent. I return to the Philippines because the elderly man passed away, and my employer in Hong Kong doesn't need my service anymore. That is the reason now I am looking for a new job in Europe as an Au pair. I would be grateful to lend a helping hand to your family, and I believe I can be a positive and helpful addition to your household.
