Personal introduction

Dear Host Family, My name is Maisie, and I am 18 years old from South Australia. I’m excited to be applying as an au pair because I’m eager to experience a new way of life and immerse myself in different cultures. I’ve always loved traveling and spending time abroad—last year, I had the chance to travel through Europe, which only deepened my love for exploring new places. I come from a close-knit family and have experience caring for children through babysitting for family friends and looking after my 6-year-old cousin in Ireland. I am patient, a good communicator, and have developed strong people skills over my four years of working in hospitality. I truly enjoy spending time with kids and find it easy to connect with people of all ages. I’m also very comfortable with pets and animals, having worked on hobby farms in the past, and I have a dog and two cats back home. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music and podcasts, and being outdoors—whether that’s walking my dog or spending time at the beach. I consider myself both outgoing and a little introverted, but once I feel comfortable, I’m very bubbly and social. I enjoy having structured days and feel that good time management is important to make the most of each day. I am very excited about the possibility of joining your family and contributing in any way I can. I look forward to the opportunity to learn from you, share my own experiences, and help out wherever needed, whether it’s with childcare, light housework, or simply being a part of your family’s everyday life.
