Personal introduction
Hello future host family!
My name is Charis and I am a high school student from Ontario, Canada. I come from a big family with 5 kids, so I am used to the business and routines of family life. I have helped to care for my younger siblings since I was a child, and living in a small and close knit community, have often helped with babysitting for friends and family. I have also provided respite care for special needs families, caring for kids with Down Syndrome and autism. I love to be involved in my community, and regularly volunteer providing childcare at my local church. I spend my summers working at a kids summer camp as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and camp counselor. I have lots of hands-on experience caring for kids, and believe it is one of the most rewarding jobs a person can have. As an Au Pair, I would look forward to building relationships and making memories with my host family and kids!
I would like to become an Au Pair for the opportunity to experience a new culture and way of life, and the opportunity to grow as a person and gain life experience. I want to make the most of my years as a young person by seeing more of the world and meeting new people from different backgrounds than my own. I love the relational aspect of being an Au Pair, as it provides an opportunity to get to know my host family well and become a part of their life and community.
Some of my hobbies include reading, baking and cooking, playing piano, hiking, and swimming. I love nature and exploring the outdoors. I love all animals, but especially dogs. After my time as an Au Pair, I dream of continuing my studies at university and pursuing a career in the medical field.
I look foward to hearing from you!
