Personal introduction

Dear Host Family, My name is Ruixi, and I am a native of China, where I lived until recently when I moved to the UK for my postgraduate studies in language education. This letter is a brief introduction to who I am, my interests, and a little about my background in the hope of making our upcoming experience together as enriching and enjoyable as possible. From a young age, I've been deeply fascinated by languages and how they serve as bridges between diverse cultures and people. This passion has guided my academic path, leading me to pursue higher education in the UK, where I'm currently dedicating myself to advancing my knowledge and skills in language education. My goal is to not only excel academically but also to immerse myself in the cultural richness that the UK has to offer. Outside the academic realm, I have a variety of interests that fill my free time with joy and relaxation. Photography and playing the guitar are two of my favourite hobbies. Photography allows me to capture the beauty of moments that might otherwise be fleeting, offering a visual diary of my experiences and travels. Playing the guitar, on the other hand, is my way of unwinding, whether I'm strumming a soothing melody or learning a new song. Both these hobbies are essential outlets for my creativity and provide me with immense personal satisfaction. I have a profound love for children and have been fortunate to gain some childcare experience. This has equipped me with the patience, understanding, and skills necessary to engage positively with young minds. I'm looking forward to being part of your family, contributing in any way I can, whether through helping with homework, playing, or sharing stories. Choosing to lead a healthy lifestyle, I never smoke or drink. I believe in taking care of my body and mind to stay energized and focused on my goals. Additionally, I have a great passion for cooking. I'm excited about the possibility of preparing and sharing meals with you, introducing you to the flavours of Chinese cuisine, and also learning about your culinary traditions.
