Personal introduction

My name is Melisa Pretorius. I was born in the heart of winter June 1997. I am located in the mother city called Cape Town. I am a qualified Caregiver and would like to pursue a career in medicine one day and becoming a Paediatric doctor. I see myself as a hands-on, clean, well-organized, funny, adventurous and an artistic type of person. I love challenges and I am very positive. My interests are singing, music, scenic viewing and cooking. I am the youngest of four children. I have two brothers, Lesley 34, Roman 29 and 1 sister, Lynne-eve 30. My father, Louis 57, was in the navy as a Chief for 20 years serving his country then volunteered thereafter for an early retirement package with that he then started his own carpentry business. My much admired mother, Lexcy 58, worked in the retail industry for 20 years thereafter began her administrative career at various companies. I come from a very hard-working esteemed big family, of which I am very proud. In my 4 year working experience with the children I've looked after thus far has been so much more enjoyable than I would have thought. I enjoyed every minute spent with them, learning something new every time I am with a child is beautiful. The children today are so astounding. I would love to become an Au pair because it is my passion to work with children whether it be young or old. It has been a part of me since a very young age to care for others and to practice compassion towards others. The way I was raised has a very big role to play in the person I am today as a young woman. My parents are kind, loving and always helpful and that is now installed in me. I have always enjoyed taking care of children and do this with great dedication, love, ambition and commitment. I am happy to spend time with them and trying to find out what exactly it is I can help and assist with. When joining your family I can not only be there to help but I will be there to share my knowledge, culture as well as my morals and values. I am reliable, faithful and helpful. You can be sure that the children are going to have a rewarding experience with me. I love "learning by doing" because it corresponds exactly with the reality. I want to be part of your family and have them look at me as the older, wiser big sister that will always be there to help them in tough situations. You can be assured that in all kind of situations I will be patient and cordially. I will be aware of my duties and responsibilities. My expectations of the time I will spend abroad will be to learn the culture and people. The reason I would love to au pair would be because of the culture, the language and the beautiful scenic viewing I can learn about. I would love to grow into a more experience person. Learning about your country would be an absolute attainment. I’m looking forward to meeting my family I will be placed with and meet a whole new way of living.
