Persönliche Einführung

Hey! My name is Sophia: I am 17 years old (turning 18 in August) and live in England and would love to work as an au pair in Germany this upcoming year! I am a responsible, dedicated, creative and caring person who loves travelling and exploring new places and would love to get to know Germany's culture more intimately, as well as further develop my knowledge of the language, whilst caring for children and being a part of a family which is something I value greatly. I have experience working with children through regular babysitting as well as helping younger children within my school, ensuring a positive, safe, calm and affirming environment which I enjoy thoroughly and would love to continue doing. I recognise the importance of making a child feel heard, respected and encouraged, and see this as a priority when building a relationship. I thrive working within a team and value open and honest communication greatly, so as to do my job as best as I possibly can! Through having familial connections to Germany, I have come to love the country however would love to get to know it more personally. I am a creative, playful, open-minded, and adaptable person who loves connecting with others. I am happiest when I live in a community! In my free time, I love to paint with watercolours and oil paint. I especially enjoy painting small animals or my friends and family! I'm an avid reader- my absolute favourite books are "Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Normal People," and (a childhood favourite) "Krokodil und Giraffe." I enjoy walking my dog ​​in nature and horse riding whenever I have the chance. My friends and I often go inline skating around town, which I absolutely love! After my year as an Au Pair, I hope to go to university and study either theology or law.
