Persönliche Einführung
Dear host family, this is Sara and I'm 24 years old. I was born in the north of Spain, in a seaside village. I grew up spending my summers on the beach with my cousins, hiking small mountains with my family and working in my grandma's garden. I have a younger sister (3 and a half years difference) who I've always been very bonded with.
My favourite sport is pilates, I also love swimming and hiking. Last year I focused on photography and arts and crafts, which I find especially relaxing. Of course traveling is what I invest most of my time in, although I also love concerts and walking along the beach or the port.
I am currently participating in the European Solidarity Corps as a volunteer, where I had the opportunity to babysit kids from a different nationality, and it was such a nice, rewarding and satisfying experience that I want to go further and become an aupair. I have taken care full-time of a 1 year old baby boy, Aria, a 5 year old girl, Yavora and a 11 year old Boudi. Each of them had different needs and I did my best to fulfill them.
I feel deeply thankful for the families that have trusted me in this process and for the kids who chose to trust me. I learn so much from them, they remind me what's truly important, to focus on the present moment and build sincere connections with each other. Moreover, as a sociologist, it's a great way to observe how we learn social norms, and how this varies between countries. I want to make sure that they feel safe and confident in their decisions as they grow.
I have a lot of experience studying and working abroad. Since I was 15 years old I've been participating in immersive language courses in France and the UK. I also did mobility as an Erasmus student in Ljubljana, Slovenia and I am currently volunteering in Bulgaria. In these trips I've made connections and friendships with people all around the world: Germany, England, Czechia, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Japan, Dominican Republic, Colombia...
Also, I volunteered in Taichung, Taiwan, last summer, with other volunteers from Thailand, Vietnam, India and Myanmar. In Taichung, as part of the volunteering project, we spent some days at the local school. We had prepared activities and games for the kids. There I learned how different the dynamics between children and with the teachers are, so in the future I will try my best to adapt accordingly to the circumstances.
That was my first experience ever in Asia and I fell like I was in a movie the whole time, I can't put into words how impressive everything was for me. So I would love to keep traveling around and go to as many new places as possible during my stay there.
And lastly, I must mention that in my family being responsible and organised where the priorities, after being a good person, of course. My mum always insisted on the importance of having good grades, which I feel is a common value with Asian families.
To conclude, I will be deeply thankful if you decide to trust me taking care of your kid(s). I will love to learn which parenting method you are following and I will do my best to fulfill your wishes. I am very patient, empathetic and tolerant, as well as brave and open-minded, so I have no doubt that we will find a way to face any challenge and that your kid(s) will be happy that I could have been part of their life and maybe keep in touch for the future.
