Persönliche Einführung

Dear Host Family, my name is Alicia. I’m 18 years old and I am from a smaller town near Düsseldorf in Germany. I finished high school in July and want to spend some time abroad. That’s why I am looking for a matching host family to help as an Aupair, beginning November 2025. There are multiple reasons why I want to work as an au pair. First of all I love taking care of and playing with children. I collected first experiences by looking after my brother Ewan who is three years younger than I am. I also nanny our neighbours' kids quite frequently. I’m aware that spending time abroad will definitely be challenging but I am ready to step out of my comfort zone and face those challenges. I strongly believe that an experience like this helps people experience personal growth. And that’s exactly what I want to do. I’ve always been really interested in other cultures and all the different aspects that come with them. I would love to get to know a completely new culture while also telling you about mine. I’m also looking forward to meeting new people to share my experience with. All the above are some examples of why I want to work as an au pair but let me tell you more about my personality. I’m a kind person who is always looking to help others in the best way I possibly can. Something that I’m known for is my love for animals. Me and my family have two cats and I love cuddling with them. Since I love animals it’s quite fitting that a long-term hobby of mine is horse riding, which I always enjoy greatly. I would describe myself as creative, open-minded and always friendly and kind. I love spending time with others – whether it's with my family, my boyfriend or my friends. I enjoy supporting and motivating the people around me and I'm someone you can trust and rely on. In my free time, I like doing crafts, reading, baking, going for walks in nature or just relaxing a bit. I also really enjoy exploring new things and making the best out of every situation. I’ve never been outside of Europe before, so I'm especially excited about the idea of discovering something completely new. I would say I’m quite organized and structured, and I enjoy helping out with chores. I have a full driveing license and I’m used to being independent. I try to be self-reflective, take criticism well and constantly work on myself. Sometimes I tend to overthink or be a bit stubborn, and I can be a perfectionist in some areas – but I try to use that as motivation to do my best. I’m looking forward to this experience as an opportunity for personal growth, to explore new places, and to become part of a lovely host family. I hope to not only be a support in your everyday life, but also to bring joy, warmth, and a helping hand into your life. I’m excited to hear from you and hopefully become a part of your family soon!
