Persönliche Einführung
My name is Nyima, I’m 18 years old, and I’m from The Gambia, but I am currently living in Sierra Leone. I am a native English speaker and I have some knowledge of French as well as Swedish.
I love to hang out with children, keep them entertained and be a part of their development. I’m excited about the opportunity to join your family as an Au Pair. I see this as more than just a job; I hope to become someone your children can trust, laugh with, and learn from.
I want to become an Au Pair because I genuinely enjoy working with children and being part of their growth and development. I see this as a unique opportunity to combine my passion for childcare with my desire to experience life in another country and culture. Being an au pair also gives me the chance to grow personally and develop important life skills such as independence, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication. I believe that learning from others, especially in a family setting, helps build empathy and a broader perspective on the world.
I have experience caring for children through babysitting and family, specifically my younger twin sisters. Taking care of twins has given me valuable experience and helped me become a more attentive, organised, and patient babysitter. It taught me how to manage two children with different needs at the same time, stay calm under pressure, and create routines that work for everyone. This experience has definitely strengthened my childcare skills and made me more confident in caring for young children. Additionally, being from a large extended family has given me the chance to look after many baby cousins, as well as children between the ages of 0-9. I believe that these experiences will allow me to interact well with your kids and form a strong bond with them.
I would describe myself as a balanced mix between outgoing and reflective, an ambivert. I enjoy meaningful conversations and social time, but I also value quiet moments to recharge. I am kind, responsible, patient, organised and respectful. I’m creative and artistic by nature, and I love doing hands-on activities like cooking, crocheting, painting, drawing, crafting, and DIY projects. I’d be very happy to share these hobbies with your children through fun, engaging activities that help spark their imagination. I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids, and I am really lively and patient with storytelling and helping with homework. I also like to go out on walks, and I would be happy to take the children out to parks as another means to strengthen our bond. I am also willing to teach your children French, as teaching them would also refresh my knowledge of the language. I would love the opportunity to support your family, learn about your culture, and become part of your daily life.
I’m really excited about becoming an au pair and being part of a new culture and family. I hope to build a warm, respectful relationship with your family where we can communicate openly and support each other. I’m happy to help with childcare and light household tasks, and I value clear expectations and a consistent schedule. I am a flexible person, and I am willing to babysit outside my working hours, as long as I am notified beforehand. I’d appreciate having my own room and some personal time during the week to rest or explore.
Most of all, I’m looking forward to learning about your culture, improving my language skills, and sharing my own background as well. I’m flexible and open to discussing the details to find the best fit for both sides. In addition to connecting with your family, I’m also excited to experience life in a new country. I hope to be welcomed into the local culture and to explore the area during my free time. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, trying different foods, and understanding the everyday life and values of the community.
I truly value mutual respect, open communication, and kindness. I believe that clear expectations and a respectful atmosphere make everything easier and more enjoyable for both sides. I’m also eager to learn about your culture and way of life, and I hope to contribute positively to your home while growing through this experience myself.
I’d love to chat further and get to know more about your family’s routine, expectations, and what you're looking for in an au pair.
Looking forward to getting to know you and your family better!
