Persönliche Einführung

Dear host family, My name is Alessia, I come from Italy and I'm almost 22 years old. I live in a small town in central Italy, which is about 2 hours from Rome. My town is very quiet, but I also like living in the city. There are 5 of us at home: my dad, who is a policeman; my mother, who is a nurse; my brother Antonio, who is 6 years younger than me; my brother Andrea, who is 8 years younger than me; and then there's me. We also have a dog, Thiago, who spends most of his time sleeping in the sun or running around in the garden. When I was little my mom always wanted me to do some sport, so I started with tennis. I did it for a few years. I'm not the best, but I can also play football. I grew up with a lot of kids in my neighborhood, they forced us to play football with them when they needed a player. Then I took some dance lessons, but they only lasted a couple of years. After that I did a year of acrobatics and last but not least I started playing volleyball. I was really into it. I stopped playing it because of school, but I still enjoy it. As for other passions, I love cooking. I prefer to cook cakes, muffins, biscuits or desserts in general, but I think I'm also quite good at savory ones. During the weekends I always help my grandmother prepare lunch for everyone with homemade pasta, gnocchi or lasagna. I'm pretty organized and like to create a new routine every month. I eat more or less everything. Since I was little I helped my mother with my little brothers and my aunt with my little cousins. They were very energetic and sometimes it was very difficult to calm them down when there were arguments. We have always tried to keep them active. In high school I studied languages (English, French and Spanish) and economics. I want to improve my English, I love traveling and I thought working as an au pair in a foreign country would be perfect to improve my English and learn a little more about your culture.
