You can also call me Poppy, which is my English name, for convenience. I am 25 years old and currently reside in Shanghai. You might be curious about what motivates me to become an Au Pair who wants to journey to your country, far away from my hometown. I would like to share with you the multifaceted reasons behind my desire to embark on this journey. First and foremost, my decision to take this step is driven by an enduring yearning to explore the world with a curious mind. From my travels to America, Singapore, Korea and Thailand, I've realized that each country has its own allure and the world's diversity is a treasure trove of experiences that fuels my passion to keep discovering. This time, however, what sets my experience apart from previous ones is the unique opportunity to immerse myself in the local lifestyle, dietary habits, traditional festivals and customs of your country. As an Au Pair, I would have the chance to delve deeper into these aspects, not just as a tourist, but by living and engaging with you on a daily basis. This allows for an experiential exchange and discussion of our respective cultures, enriching my understanding and providing a valuable learning opportunity. Secondly, the aspiration for genuine and honest relationships encourage me to explore new environments and connect with different people. This may mark the beginning of a new connection between us and a new chapter for both of us, but don’t worry, as I have always done in the past, I enjoy embracing new life and making them manageable, which allows me to adjust quickly to synchronize with your life routine. Regarding my relationship with children, I have a deep affection for them and truly enjoy spending time in their company. In many ways, children are more creative, imaginative and energetic than adults, and they are incredibly sensitive and open to the world, embracing their infinite possibilities, which consistently offer me fresh perspectives on learning. As the wise Chinese proverb goes, 'When three walk together, one can be my teacher.' I am keen to learn new things from your family with humility and sincerity, and to make a positive contribution to the growth and development of your children. Thirdly, studying abroad has always been one of my future plans and aspirations, which I believe will broaden my horizons and enhance personal growth. Therefore, I am confident that the experience of being Au Pair is a golden chance to live with a host family, improve language skills and adjust to a different cultural environment, which will provide a solid foundation and valuable reference for the future student life abroad. If you are interested, please continue reading. As previously mentioned, I love children and being with them. In my personal life, I have some experience in taking care of them, often lending a hand to my cousins by looking after their children who are usually aged between 3 and 7 during weekends and holidays, engaging with them as a playmate and preparing meals for them. And I regularly provide tutoring support to my friend's younger sisters, aged twelve to fifteen, guiding them through their studies with care and encouragement. I cherish the moments we share, from laughter during playtime to quiet concentration as we work through their lessons together. These interactions have not only brought joy to each other but have also strengthened the bond we share. In my working experience, as an acting team leader in the customer operations department in a transnational home furnishing corporation, one of my responsibilities was to care for children playing in Smaland, which is children’s core play area, ensuring their safety, engaging with them and assisting them as needed. It is these experiences that have reinforced my longing to contribute positively to growth of children and I am excited about the prospect of doing so as an Au Pair, offering my experience and knowledge with patience and carefulness to your family's little ones, and growing together with you. In addition to my passion for children, I have several hobbies that enrich my life. First of all, I love cooking and prepare meals for myself and my roommates daily. There's something special about bringing people together around a shared meal, and if you are intrigued by the flavors of Chinese cuisine, it would be my honor to share some home-cooked dishes with you. Secondly, I find joy and peace in reading, watching films, exercising and practicing calligraphy with verses from Chinese traditional poetry, which help me focus on the present moment and become calmer and more peaceful. Reading and watching films also allow me to experience diverse perspectives and empathize with a wide range of emotions and moods. Thirdly, I take pleasure in visiting museums and wandering in parks, admiring artworks, flowers and sunsets with friends. I would be delighted to share these experiences with you if you enjoy such activities as well. These pursuits have shaped me into a well adjusted individual with stable inner core and perseverance. Even when faced with sudden situations or new environments, I can adapt quickly and calmly address challenges. I hope the above information help you get to know me better.
