Persönliche Einführung
Dear family
I am very happy to introduce myself and get to know you.
My name is Diana Carolina. I am 27 years old and I am from Bogota, Colombia. I am part of a family of six: my parents, two sisters and a half-brother. I am an environmental engineer and currently I am presenting my final master's thesis in conservation and use of biodiversity. Also I’m part of a community "La Viajera Inteligente" where I am preparing myself as an Au Pair; there I participate in workshops of psycho-pedagogy, neuro-education and pedagogy.//
About my experience with children, I have had the opportunity to take care of my nephew Esteban since he was 1 year to his 7 years old, also my cousin Mariana Sofia who is 2 years old and her brother Santiago since he was 7 years old until now he is 10 years old. I have also had the opportunity to live with other little cousins in second grade and my friends' little cousins for many years of friendship. In total there have been about 9 years of experience with children. The activities that I do with the children include helping them to do their homework, painting, doing crafts, playing with the ball, going for walks (especially to places with nature) and playing in the park, teaching them the treatment of pets, raising kite, theater plays, ride their bikes, play with their toys, dance Just Dance and do karaoke. Of course my time with them includes feeding them, accompanying them to the bathroom and helping them with whatever they need, and above all, making sure they are safe. I like spending time with children and giving my all in the time they spend with me, because it is a crucial stage in life for their integral development as people.//
My motivation to be an Au Pair is to be a part of my host family, putting all my love, effort and responsibility in the care of the children and in the coexistence with their parents, just like a real family. I want to be part of the children's development and help them grow up healthy and full of joy. Also, I want to have the opportunity to be part of a family from another culture, with other perspectives and ways of seeing the world, while I can improve my level of English, and what better way to learn than as we do as children: totally immersed in the language in daily life.
