Persönliche Einführung

Dear Host Family, I am already very excited about getting to know all of you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Dominique Daria Pandie, you can call me Dee. I am 35 years and from the coastal city of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. I have 2+ years of experience as an Aupair and a qualified ESL instructor (I have my 120-hour Masterclass - I teach online). Currently, I am finishing off my studies in the Arabic language this year and I teach that to kids ages 3-12 in a classroom setting in the afternoons. I live with my aunt and uncle (my mom passed away when I was 16), who are like my parents, Basheerah(60) and Ghakiem(62), and my cousin Nishaat(29) who is like my sister, who is an HR advisor. My other sister(cousin) Farzaanah(34) just left for Kuwait to teach kids at the Primary School level. We have a brother who is married with one kid(18 months) and one on the way. A bit more about myself you are probably wondering why I am so old living back home, I am Divorced since 2021. :) I resigned from my career as a Brand Manager in 2019, as my husband at the time said I may tend to the home. Since then I have been teaching online. I have 2 kids from my first marriage whom I see one week on and a week off in rotation with their dad. Because I am unemployed and have no means to look after them, from next year they will stay with their dad on a permanent basis. They are a bit older now, and with permission from their dad, and them of course. I am seeking out other opportunities (before I get older) and getting back into the work field, but not entirely working in corporate, but in a family environment. One where I have a high amount of experience as an Aupair, a teacher, and a Mother. I raised my kids upon the Maria Montessori method where our environments have been child lead to allow the child the opportunity to grow within their passions. I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. Resilient to all knocks in life and who aims to live life being mindful in situations. I have a high-value system when it comes to raising kids with good moral standards. I am not a smoker or drinker, and I don't do clubbing or partying. However, in my free time I enjoy going out in Nature, I love nature and experiencing what the Almighty has gifted us with. Hiking and the beach are where you will find me. I am quite an adventure seeker. I enjoy reading books and Art. You would find me buying a canvas and relaxing this way any day. I am well versed in all topics and see myself as a bubbly person who is out to make the most of this temporary life. Currently, I teach English online as I have my TESOL masterclass certificate which could be a great asset for non-native speakers. My extensive work experience in Retail Brand operations, allowed me to bond with many customers and liaise at the corporate level. Here my accomplishments are my interpersonal skills, working with a competitive sales team, leading them to high sales turnover, and good time management, as I worked myself up to the senior level. In my early life after I graduated from high school, I Aupair in America for 2+ years. Before that, I used to babysit for pocket money and this allowed me to gain great responsibility from a young age. Of course, nothing tops off my experience as actually being a mom for the past 10 years. My kids gave me the best experience. They are staying with their dad and I would like to save some money to take them on a plane and experience life abroad on vacations with me. It is my daughter's wish to travel. I would also like to pursue teaching as a second language full-time later on and settle somewhere safe other than South Africa. My country is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but with a high crime rate and unemployment rate. I would like to give my kids a better opportunity one day. I hope you enjoyed my candidness, open communication, and transparency, I do believe these make great qualities for an Aupair. I am in hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to spend an eventful year or 2, with you and your kids.
