The components (including our little daughter) are very active and first of all sporty. We are living near the border to Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and that's the reason why we are talking German as well as Italian. Our culture is a mix of Italian lifestyle (also eating culture) and German correctness. In the past we travelled around the world and we consider ourselves as open minded. My wife is a single freelance physiotherapist and I'm working in the financial sector. Our primary language at home is German, but I'll have to change my habits and talk also Italian, to teach my daughter Italian, increasing her familiarity with Italian. We love the mountains during all seasons. We practice moutainbiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, hiking, fitness, running, swimming and so on. Not extremely, only on an intermediate level, and for the last years even less than this. Meran is a city with about 40.000 citizen, 50% with native language German and the other 50% Italian. Public transport connections are OK, and as this city is also a tourist destination, the offer of cultural events is also OK, but nightlife offers are weak/poor. Please take this in mind.
As the kindergarten closes during the summer months (July to September) and we have to work, ... there is a lack in child-care. So this will be the primary work. Obviously there will be also to do some normal domestic work. We all will do it. As we would like to increase our spoken English, it would be fine if you are a native English speaker, but since our daughter knows only German at the moment, some basic knowledge in German will be necessary. Own private room and bath room is available.
