Hello! If you're reading this description then we're off to a good start! We do live in a small town, in between two valleys, which isn't for everyone. We enjoy our leafy, country life, BUT we do live within 30 minutes of Manchester City Centre, by train, as well as a number of other big U.K. cities, so you will be afforded plenty of opportunity to explore, which we actively encourage! My partner and I are both avid travellers and social butterflies, if you like, so it seemed an obvious choice for us to get an au pair when our little boy came along. It's our chance to return some of the international experience and good will that has been afforded to us over the years. First and foremost we would like someone who we can entrust the safety and wellbeing of our son to implicitly, but beyond that we're keen to have someone join our little family who is enthusiastic, curious, energetic and open-minded. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone, building a friendship more than a working relationship. We're all sharing one house after all. You will have your own floor with a small kitchenette and bathroom, for when a bit of privacy is needed.
Here's the catch... we're early risers! We're usually up 5:30-6:00ish with the little one and enjoy a family breakfast before going to work. My partner works over the road at the local high school and I run a deli in the town centre. We're both out of the door by 7:15 at which point we would expect you to be up and ready to take care of our little man. Daddy comes home at lunch, so can give you some relief. I usually do a full day, but will encourage you to go for walks around the beautiful park nearby and stop in the shop and say hello. We have two cats and a dog, so it will help if you're an animal lover and are happy to take the dog out with on walks with you. There are plenty of baby groups nearby and we ask that you attend one or two a week to help socialise the wee man and get him used to being around other children. We'd like you to take an active interest in encouraging his learning and development as you'll often spend more time with him than us, Early evening is family time and you'll be free to hang with us or go off for some private time, as you please. There is little to do in the evening as the baby goes to bed around 18:00, but there may be occasions where it would be helpful if you could start dinner or perhaps babysit if we go out, albeit a rare treat for us! I'm a cook by trade and love good food so you'll be very well fed! Weekend work will be on an as and when basis. If we're at home we're very happy for you to go out exploring or you can join us for walks and hikes, visits to the Lake District, small breaks and local "holidays". You can be as involved in or independent of our family life as you wish. We're a young couple and like to have fun, so hopefully you will too!
