Dear au pair, We have recently moved to the beautiful 'outback' town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. I have commenced a senior management role with the town council and my husband, Paul, is at home caring for our two year old daughter, Lyric. He is about to start a new job in early October. Our two boys, Banjo (9) and Ryder (7) attend the local Primary School. We live in a four bedroom, two bathroom home close to the town centre. Alice Springs is a very multi-cultural community and one of the major tourist destinations in Australia. It has many services including supermarkets, department stores, restaurants and a well equipped hospital. It also has a very busy events calendar with something exciting happening almost every weekend. My work keeps me busy during the week. However, I rarely work during weekends. My husband will also have weekends off and most Fridays and enjoys spending his free time with our children.
We are looking for a bright, good natured and friendly au pair that can help care for the children when we are both at work. The au pair will normally work from Monday to Thursday only. Occasionally, care on Fridays may be required but never on weekends . Although my husband takes care of the house work and meals, we may ask the au pair to assist with these duties when he is working away from home. Cooking skills would certainly be an advantage as neither Paul or myself are particularly passionate in this area. The au pair will have her own bedroom and bathroom inside the house. The work hours will typically be around 8:30am - 5:30pm on the days mentioned above, with school pick ups required for the two boys. There will be opportunities for the au pair to attend community events and sight seeing trips on weekends.
