We are the Harper family. We are original from Perth, but will be re-locating to Kalgoorlie in the near future for work. Our family consists of Josh (31), Stacey (31), Isla (2), Jye (2months) and our big dopey dog Boofa. Josh works in the mining industry s a process technician. He has worked in this industry for a long time in different roles. Josh’s work is the main reason for us moving to Kalgoorlie, as for about 8 months josh has been back doing fly in fly out meaning he was hardly seeing the kids, moving to Kalgoorlie he can get a job locally and therefore see the kids a lot more. He does shift work meaning during the week if Josh happens to be off work he will be home with the kids. Josh loves his sport, mainly football (AFL), cricket and golf. He plays football and cricket on the weekends, which one will depend on what time of year it is, so because of this as a family we will spend a bit of out time on weekends going to watch him play. Stacey is beginning work as a teacher at the local high school. For the last 15 years she has worked as a swimming coach where she had a lot of success, this career stemmed from being a competitive swimmer herself. The reason for the change to teaching is that it is a more realistic job moving to Kalgoorlie. Stacey loves sport as well, and loves to cook. Isla likes to be as independent as we allow her to and can be strong willed. She loves to keep busy, with games, art/craft, sport or baking. As our Au Pair you would be expected to watch the kids when Stacey and Josh are both at work. Weekdays Josh happens to have off, he will watch the kids with the exception of the odd game of golf he may go play for a couple of hours. These weekdays will be 8am-4pm. With Josh’s roster some weeks you may have 5 days, other weeks you may only have 2-3 days. You will be expected to do the above listed tasks with the kids on days Josh and Stacey are at work, days they aren’t at work you will have a bit of time to yourself. In addition to this we would expect you to help out with vacuuming/washing the floor, keeping your bathroom clean, helping clean up after the kids whilst Josh and Stacey are at work (which is mainly making sure Isla cleans up after herself) and then helping with cleaning dishes. Obviously some meal prep for lunches and snack whilst Josh and Stacey are working as well.
