We are looking for an enthusiastic young woman who is willing to spend 10-12 months with our family looking after our two daughters (3 and 6 year-old) in a typical English house in South West London (zone 2). We would like the au pair to inspire and encourage our girls to develop new skills (French speaking definitely and a sport activity for example). If you speak French with our girls, they promised in return to teach you English! You will have 4 days of the week free from 9am to 3pm, where you can attend English lessons or any other courses to learn the language or another skill. We live in a family-friendly part of London full of fun families, kids and au pairs/nannies. There is a park, Clapham common, 2 minutes walk from our house, where you can take the girls out or go for a run. Central London is about 20-30 minutes away from where we live. We live 10 min from Clapham Junction, a big station that has several trains going to Victoria station (10 min journey) or Waterloo station (10 min journey). Clapham Common tube station is less than 15 min from our house and there are 3-5 different bus lines you can take to go to the centre of London. You will have a spacious loft bedroom with your own toilet room, 'lavabo' and bath. We have wifi which works up to the loft/attic room! We are a Swiss-British family. Stephanie, the mum, comes from Montreux in Switzerland and Andrew, the dad, is British. Our two daughters, Charlotte (6) and Emilie (3) are happy girls full of energy who love to be looked after. The task of the au pair will be to support the parents in looking after the children from about 8am in the morning till about 6.30-7pm in the evening during the week. The activities would cover: take the girls to school, pick them up from school, take them to after school activities if any, organise playdates with other children friends every now and then and cook dinner for the girls. Once a week, we may ask the au pair to put the girls to bed and babysit. Both girls have school from 9am to 3.15-3.30pm, except for the younger one who has Wednesday afternoon off school. During the week-end, the au pair is free to enjoy her time in London. She will be welcome to attend any activities that the family is organising if she is willing to. We want the au pair to feel as part of the family and we will aim to make sure that she integrates well and makes the most of the experience of living in a foreign country, new family and different culture.
