We are an Italian/Brazilian couple looking for an au pair for our 3 year old daughter. He is 36yo is a university lecturer. She is 30yo is temporary unemployed, pregnant with our second child. We are living in Florianopolis, a beautiful city (in an island) in the South of Brazil.
Most of all we are looking for someone who feels like they are part of the family and not just someone who is an employee. Most of the time we are looking for someone to assist in the normal day to day stuff around the house. You would be expected to help us to care for the baby during the day and then to help us with getting her through our nighttime routine (dinner, bath-time, getting off to bed). We would also love for you to accompany us to the grocery store, and to join us on visits to parks, events, and on holiday trips as well. I would very much appreciate some help around the house, mostly baby related. Like helping to fold and put away their clothes, keeping their play areas tidy, helping to prepare and clean after meals, and behave like a regular household member. We are looking for someone who is very responsible, who can entertain our daughter, take care of her and speak with her in a different language (preferably English). In exchange, we will offer your own room (with all bills included) in a very warm and welcoming home, a respectful and safe environment, pocket money, possibility to live 20 minutes walking from the beach and will encourage you to make the most of the island of Florianópolis! You will be most welcome to join our family for all activities or to have time to yourself as you please. We believe in gentle but firm discipline and the importance of good manners and would appreciate someone who feels the same. We also would appreciate someone who is kind, tidy, and respectful of others and willing to dive in with enthusiasm and join us with our busy little life!
