Hey guys, Unfortunately I am having to leave my amazing host family in March and I'm looking for a replacement au pair! I've been offered a great job back in the UK that I can't turn down but am so gutted to be leaving the family and Marseille! The most important things are that you are a girl, british and over 21! It's a live-out position, living in a small studio in the centre of Marseille, 10 min walk from the beach and 15 minute bus ride from the family's flat. Looking after 2 adorable children, a boy who is 5 years old and a little girl is who is 20 months. They are very loving, funny, clever, affectionate and well behaved children! You will be required to help in the mornings and after school only so you have the whole day free to do what you want, take french lessons, etc! Weekends are normally free except the occasional babysitting! You will get 100 euros a week which will cover your food and living costs. Rent and bills are all payed for by the family. On top of this, you will recieve money once a month to cover your Transpass (bus and metro card) and your french Sim card. It is a hassle free job with a great family, the mum and dad are always there to help or talk to if you ever need anything. I've never had an issue with anything since being here in August and my best friend here au paired for them for a year before me and absolutely loves them too. She still speaks and sees them all the time! Send me a message if you are interested or pass this on to anyone who you think will be suitable
So the general hours will be something like this... You will take the bus from right outside your apartment at 6:50am every morning normally 4 days a week as they will give you 1 morning off most weeks. You will arrive at the families home no later than 7:15 am and just help out a bit with the morning routine. Getting both kids dressed, teeth, hair etc and tidying up (nothing heavy) and emptying or refilling the dishwasher. Then at 8 am you will accompany either Valérie or Christophe with the kids to school and creche. You then take the bus home and from around 8:30 you are COMPLETELY FREE until normally 5/5:30 pm. Wednesdays in France children do not go to school so some Wednesdays you will work all day helping the Grandad look after the Clarence as Céleste will be in the creche all day. During this time you will normally eat out at a nice restaurant for lunch with the grandad and some other family (and of course they pay for you and you eat as much as you want!!) Other Wednesdays will be the same as any other day as Clarence will go to spend the day at one of his Grandmother's. The rest of the time you will work will normally be 5 evenings a week between 5/5:30-8:40 pm. During this time you will tidy the kids toys and the kitchen, hang out any washing or put a load on, and fold away clothes. You will never have to do heavy housework as they have a cleaner twice a week for 3 hours each time. You will also play with the kids and teach Clarence english through games, talking and drawing. The family prefer that you don't just sit and watch TV or ipad with him. You will also give him his shower or bath, heat up his dinner (he has the sam every night- normally pasta and sauce and a vegetable purée) you will never have to cook. Then read him his story in english and at 8:40 pm you are finished. You can then either stay and eat dinner with the family or go home and eat in your apartment. Weekends are free except for the occasion they want you to babysit on a Friday or Saturday night or very rarely help them out for a few hours on a weekend day. These hours are included in your contract so you won't be paid extra. PAY- You will be paid a base rate of 80 euros weekly, they will also give you 20 euros extra paid at same time for you to cover food Costs in your apartment. They also cover the cost each month of a transpass (a card which allows you to take all buses and metros around marseille for free) and included in this card for 5 euros a year are the 'vélo' bikes that you can take from all over the city if you prefer to get your exercise. They will also give you 20 euros a month to cover the cost of a sim card that will allow you 20gb of 4G Internet, unlimited text and calls and free unlimited calls to landlines in Europe so you can call home whenever you want.
