We live in a small, friendly town called Palma Del Rio in Andalucía which is 30 minutes by train from the city of Cordoba and an hour from Sevilla. In our town there are lots of nice restaurants, shops, schools, parks and a church (which we attend every Sunday). The people that live in Palma are very nice and you will get to know some of the locals. The weather is always beautiful with blue skies and a lot of sun! which you can take advantage of nearer to the summer months. During the working days the children leave for school at 9:00am. Later, myself, Fransisco and Juan usually return around 2:00pm and Maria and Carmen at 3:00pm. Myself and my husband only speak a little English, however the children are improving everyday and are able to withhold a conversation.
From Monday - Friday you will have the mornings free until 2:30 when we have lunch as a family, after this you will do an hour of English lessons with each of the children helping them with the topic they are studying in class and helping them with any English work they may have, when this is finished you are able to do as you please. In the afternoons, after dinner we complete a listening exercise which you would have prepared during the day along with 4/5 questions. The weekends you will have free to do as you wish this could include seeing the other au'pairs in the town, going to places such as Cordoba and Seville or you are more than welcome to spend time with the family. In our home you will have a reasonable sized, modern bedroom on the ground floor along with your own bathroom.
