We live in the suburbs of an amazing city- Brighton. We are 10 minutes by train from the city and 1 hour by train from London. We have 3 brilliant kids- who in May will be 4 (a girl); and 1 (boy/girl twins). We are gentle parents who like to discuss things, avoid punishment and don't let our kids cry themselves to sleep. We like sports and being busy, but also chilling out! We are into current affairs and are really interested in other places and cultures. My partner can speak a bit of Portuguese and some Spanish. We have a friendly hypoallergenic dog- you won't have any responsibility for her, but she does love being petted! We are looking for a caring open person who can have fun with our children. We are hoping for someone that the whole family loves and who enjoys spending time with us as well! We would like someone who loves walks, parks and the outdoors. If you are into sport that would be great, but we also encourage crafts and drawing. Our kids love to have books read to them- and we don't have TV for the kids so their stories and imagination comes from this. They like to do crafts and art and we like to encourage messy play. It would be great if you have experience working with children and some knowledge of child development. We have family in Brazil and would love to have a Portuguese speaker. We are also thinking of sending our kids to a Spanish school- so a Spanish speaker would also be wonderful.
We are hoping for someone who can do between 20-30 hours a week. This will vary from summer to winter. We will give you a rota so that everyone knows what is happening! Either myself or my partner will be around most of the time as she works from home and I can also do so if needed, but we will stay out of the way! We will also have meetings/classes so will be out some of the time. We would like one night of babysitting on either a Friday or a Saturday night. We can be flexible with anything that you might want to do and would ask that you are flexible with us. We will take a family holiday in July/August and you will also have this time off ; and we will do the same over Christmas and Easter. You will get your own room with a front door access that does not take you through the house. The room is furnished with a bed, a sofa, a fridge, a kettle, a microwave and a TV and other furniture can be found depending on what you would like! As this area is set to the side of the house we would be happy for you to have visitors. Your bathroom is in the main house and has a shower that will be for your sole use. We would ask that in the evenings and at weekends that you do not use the main living room area, but the kitchen and bathroom are available.
