• Purificación (colloquially Pura) is looking for an “au pair†from the beginning of June to the 14th of July 2015 in Palacio de TorÃo, 15 Kms from the city of León (Spain). Besides public bus service between the village and León, the family has their own car available when needed, as an option. A bicycle is also available. â€¢ï€ Pura is looking for a trustworthy young woman coming to Spain this summer to improve her knowledge of Spanish. An “au pair†student, aged between 18 and 30, non-smoker, who understands Spanish, ready to share accommodation with Pura in Palacio de TorÃo during her placement. The house is detached, with three floors and garden. â€¢ï€ Pura offers free board and logging, plus 80.- Euros a week, to the “au pair†student. Last summer’s experience was completed to both parties’ satisfaction. â€¢ï€ The student or person placed “au pair†will not have a contract of employment or affiliation to the Spanish Social Security scheme during her placement period, so the “au pair†person should provide herself with the European Health Insurance Card, or should contract an insurance policy against illness and accident during the placement period. â€¢ï€ The student will have her separate room with bed linen, towels...and every facility to study in a well equipped home, comfortable, clean and tidy, with internet access. A free of charge mobile phone, supporting basic telephony only, is available for the student.
â€¢ï€ Pura is a widow and lives alone. She is friendly and hospitable, a considerate person who respects the privacy of others, and expects the host student to respect her habits and peaceful life. â€¢ï€ Until 2013 Pura spent every summer in the village on her own. Her sons and daughter go to visit her a few days in July and August. Pura is 90 years old, but in good health. Her main problem is that she is diabetic, insulin dependent; she has to monitor her medication, and take a daily walk with someone. â€¢ï€ Pura wants to be accompanied by an “au pairâ€, so as not to spend this summer on her own. The only duty of the student will be to devote two hours daily from Monday to Saturday (Sunday day off) to take Pura for a walk, to control her medication and monitor her glucose levels and blood pressure. Pura has a permanent Telecare service connected to León Red Cross. â€¢ï€ As for household chores, the “au pair†must only collaborate on housekeeping, i.e: make her own bed and keep clean and tidy her own room, wash her clothes and linen, help maintain clean and tidy common areas (dining room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet), assist in cooking when they have lunch/supper together, help shopping, water the garden, etc...
