Dear Au-pair Candidate, Thank you very much for your interest in helping us. We hope that what you read here motivates you further in your application. ABOUT US: We are a very happy Spanish family. Our two daughters (aged 9 months and 6 years) are very nice, polite and intelligent and are very keen to meet you and learn from you. We are a bilingual family and communicate in both Spanish and English. You will be expected to speak in English and/or your mother tongue only, but if you are interested in learning Spanish we can help you with that. Both of us parents are teachers and thus are experts in helping people learn :) OUR HOUSE: We live in a very nice quiet area. Our apartment is only 300 meters away from a modern tramway that crosses the beautiful city of Zaragoza. The apartment has 4 rooms (one of which will be for your personal use), kitchen, dining room a bathroom and a shower room. It gets plenty of sun as it is facing south-east. High speed internet is available throughout the apartment via WIFI. ZARAGOZA is a very historic city (ancient capital of the kingdom), between Barcelona and Madrid (only 90 minutes from each city), and very near the Pyrenees (mountains between Spain and France). Zaragoza can be reached via low-cost, direct flights from London, Brussels, Paris and Milan and via Barcelona or Madrid from anywhere in the world.
SCHEDULE: You will have most weekends free from Saturday midday, and in the (very unlikely) event that we need your help on a Saturday evening or a Sunday, we will make sure you get at least another day off that week and/or next. We often go to the mountains (hiking, climbing, skiing) and visit nice villages in the countryside and would love to take you with us if you are interested. You may be able to come with us to visit Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and/or other touristic destinations within Spain as well. We need your help looking after our daughters for only around 30h per week and some easy household duties (most of which you can do while you are looking after our daughters). Deep cleaning of the apartment is only done once a week and can be done in less than 3 hours. We have a washing machine and dishwashers so there is no need to hand wash either of them. We would love if you could have a one hour conversational lesson with each of the ladies in the house (thus 3 hpw in total). You do not need to learn how to do it as training will be provided (you may even receive a certificate as a teacher!). OUR OFFER We love our daughters and want the best for them. This guarantees that you will get plenty of support from us, especially if your experience looking after children is limited. Training will be provided whenever necessary. You will certainly not feel we "dump" the kids to you. We work most of the time in the house and thus you will be able to ask for our help often ?
