We require an enthusiastic, fun and hard-working au pair live with us in Kingston, Surrey, caring for our two children aged 6 and almost 9, from mid August 2016. We want someone who is quite independent who can be trusted to take care and keep safe our our lovely kids, give them lots of fun and also be firm enough to keep their respect and behaviour up to standard! Gaynor (45) & Alan (43) Luca (nearly 9) Lola (6) In the evenings Alan and I generally cook and chat, listen to music or watch TV. At weekends we do family stuff - swimming with the kids, walking, cycling or enjoying the local area with friends. Alan and Gaynor both work, Alan in London, 5 days a week and Gaynor around 4 days a week either at home or travelling to Europe. Our au pair will generally work four days a week (generally Monday - Thursday). Our kids: Luca, 8 3/4, is smart, energetic, a charmer but also sensitive and probe to outbursts of anger. He loves rough play- wrestling, climbing trees, being competitive, Lego, cycling. Lola, 6, loves dressing up, games, cooking, singing, dancing and drawing and is extremely sociable and sunny.
Children: Having great fun with our kids - chasing, adventures and indoor games. taking them to school and collecting after school. Supervising 'learning' and homework such as reading, spelling, maths. Taking them to clubs and after school activities. Organising play dates with other au pairs, nannies and parents. Housework: providing children's evening meal. Doing the family's laundry (washing and ironing), general cleaning in the mornings, tiding up after the children at the end of the day, emptying the dishwasher etc and keeping their bedroom and playroom tidy. General: You work in the mornings, have three hours off every afternoon, then collect the kids from school until about 6.30pm. This is approximate, as I am often in Europe so some flexibility on hours is required (with notice) and when I am at home your day might be a little shorter. You don't work Fridays and weekends, but every so often we will ask you to baby sit in the evenings. We include some extras such as contributions to language classes or gym membership.
