We would be glad if you could come to stay with our family. Our last au pair came for a year and stayed with us four! She finally stayed in Spain and is currently studying at the Spanish University. Therefore, we need a new au pair starting in September/October. We really had fun with Jenny, Emma and Katie (our last au pairs) and we would love to repeat the experience. Besides, they were a great help for us! We are a Spanish family from Madrid, Spain. We lived in St Andrews (Scotland) for seven years and our daughter was born there. Now we are back in Spain (Madrid). Sara is a lively, active kid. She is very outgoing, loves to be around people, explore new places, play in the park with other children, etc. Generally, she is very well behave and quite obedient. She has very good results in school (Primary 3) and also likes playing the piano (she takes piano lessons in the evenings). We are both working during the day. Iciar (mum) is a primary teacher in a school nearby where we live. Pablo (dad) is a scientist who works for the Spanish Ministry of Health. His office is far from where we live, so he leaves very early in the morning and returns home in the evening. We also have a pet bird, a budgie (Pichi). He is very friendly. He has his own cage, but when we are at home, we let him free around the flat.
We are looking for an au-pair for a year or two. It would be to look after our 8 years old daughter, Sara, take and collect her from school and speak English to her, so that she can maintain her good English level. It is a great opportunity to learn or practice Spanish, study something at university or language school, or even find another job since most of the day will be free and the hours are quite flexible. We offer free accommodation, meals and pocket money. We have a cleaner, so the main housework is already covered. We would only ask you to do minor maintenance jobs: wipe up the kitchen table, hang clothes, empty the dishwasher, do a small shopping in the corner shop… We will also be involved with that on a daily basis, so you won’t have to do it all :-) We also would like you to help Sara to keep her room and toys tidy (we would like you to encourage her to do it, but she will need extra help).
