Ciao! Our family is composed by myself (Marika) and I am the director/manager/owner of the house and of the family time. We have two beatiful kids (when asleep) Giulio (3y) and Camilla (2y). They leave home at around 9 am and come back at 4pm as they go to school or cresh. We leave in a mid sized town just outside Milan, well connected through the public transportation. Don't expect the small village of tuscany surrounded by hills and vineyars... Expect to have a train every 15 minutes connecting to Milan that takes 29 minutes (italian schedules...). Our house is around 15 minutes walk from the train station. Did i forgot anything? Oh, yes... Tthere is also my husband, Andrea, who is 35 (1 year older than me but you could not tell...). He is almost irrelevant in the family management and you should never worry to tell him where kids are etc... He speaks better English than me having lived 4 years in Ireland. That's why he is the one writing this description...
It's our first experience with an "au pair" and we want it to work! For both of us! We need someone that could help us with the daily activities of the family. Your involvement should not take longer than a few hours per day mainly in the afternoon from around 4 pm to 7 pm, Mon/Fri. You should go and collect the two kids from the schools and take them swinning twice a week (or similar). Our expectation would be that you help us with the daily houseworks for max 1 hour per day. No ironing or window cleaning involved!!! Unless you really love doing it... You'll have all week-ends free and all evenings. We might just ask for you to stay at home with the kids one evening per week if we want to go out for a pizza... We have just finished refurbishing our house and there's plenty of space for you. You'll have your private "small apartment" for your privacy. That would include your hown bathroom, bedroom and, if you want, kitchen too! Ideally you should have a perfect English and a basic knowledge of Italian wouldn't hurt when communicating with our kids. We are young and have lot of fun! Jokes apart, we have rather an intense social life (at home) as we invite our friends quite often for barbecues on our terrace during the summer (and winter too!). So you could join us and enjoy my husband cooking capabilities (that go beyond bbq).
