We are an active family with both parents being professionals and working long hours. I (the mother) am a health professional that works in multiple locations (including flying to rural areas)and works days/evenings or night shift. We have two wonderful children aged 4 in March, and a baby born in November (nearly 3 months old). When not working we love taking our kids to the local playgrounds and to friends houses. We are happy, fun loving people, but like order in our lives. We live 20 minutes drive south east of Melbourne city centre, and are within walking distance of a train station, buses and the local shops. We live one street away from the local swimming pool and gym. We are looking for a female au pair that is full of energy and flexible with the days and times that she works. One week might be 6 days in a row, then you would get the next week off to explore Australia. Another week might be just evenings. It would change week to week.
We would like our au pair to be someone our children can learn from and look up to. You should be full of energy (as our toddler certainly is) and be flexible with what days and times you can work. You will have to be happy looking after a baby (ie bottle feeding, nappy changes, settling). We enjoy challenging our four year old with lots of activities including arts and crafts, sports, learning numbers and letters and trying new things. We would want you to give the baby lots of sensory experiences like singing, tummy time, reading books. You will also need to get up to her at night time once I have stopped breastfeeding. In addition to child care we expect the kids rooms, living room and kitchen to be tidy. Laundry kept up to date. Folding of clothes. Changing kids' linen. Sweeping the floor. Throwing out the rubbish. Getting the mail. At times, the baby will need to sleep in your room if I go away for work without you all.
