We’re a family with two daughters, aged 11 and 14, living in a peaceful country home near Vanderhoof, British Columbia. We enjoy animals, horses, outdoor activities and creative hobbies. Our home has lovely river views and space for crafts and personal interests. We’re looking for someone kind, dependable and organized who enjoys spending time with children and would appreciate country life. Someone who could share interests such as horse riding, baking, reading, painting or crafts would be especially welcome. We hope to find someone interested in a longer stay—ideally a year or more if everyone is happy. We can begin with an agreed trial period to see whether the arrangement suits everyone. You would have your own bedroom and bathroom, food and utilities included, plus pay and agreed travel support. We value clear communication, privacy, fairness and agreed responsibilities and time off. A valid driving licence is essential.
Help with the girls’ school-morning routines, preparing lunches, school drop-offs and pickups when scheduled, and everyday activities. Spend time with them through hobbies, outdoor activities and practical skills. Household duties include meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, keeping shared areas organized, and helping with horses and pets. Occasional weekend help would be discussed in advance. We’ll agree on working hours, duties, pay and time off before the placement begins. You’ll have personal time and your own private space. We’re looking for a reliable licensed driver who is comfortable with rural living. Appropriate authorization to work in Canada must be in place before starting.
