Host Family Profile — South East Queensland We're a busy, warm, and welcoming family based in South East Queensland, looking for a special person to join our household and become a real part of our family life. We have three children of varying ages — full of energy, curiosity, and personality — and our home is never short of laughter, activity, and the occasional beautiful chaos. As a mum who works from home with flexible hours, I'm around a lot, which means our au pair won't ever feel thrown in the deep end. We work closely together, communicate openly, and genuinely value the person who helps us keep everything running smoothly. What we're looking for We'd love to find someone who is mature and responsible, but equally knows how to get down on the floor and just play. Our kids respond to people who are genuinely engaged with them — creative, patient, and fun. Experience with young children is really important to us, as is having a current driver's licence and being confident behind the wheel, since school runs, activity drop-offs, and general getting-around are a big part of daily life here in SEQ. This is a Monday to Friday position built around the school day. Your mornings will begin with getting the kids ready and doing the school drop-off, leaving your mid-morning through to early afternoon free. Afternoons are where the fun begins — you'll do the school pick-up and then spend quality time with the kids, whether that's outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, bike rides, or whatever creative activities you enjoy doing together. To round out the day, you'll cook a simple, nourishing family dinner each evening. A driver's licence and confidence behind the wheel are essential, as the school run is a core part of the role. Beyond that, we're simply looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and brings warmth and creativity to every afternoon.
