I am an expat who moved to Jamaica five years ago and recently became a parent to a one-year-old child. We live a relaxed but active lifestyle, enjoying Jamaica’s culture and the outdoors — from beaches to rivers and exploring the island. I would love to welcome an au pair who is warm, caring, and reliable, and who enjoys being part of family life. Ideally, you will be French or Spanish speaking, so you can help introduce my child to the language from an early age. Someone who enjoys cultural exchange, has a positive attitude, and is excited to experience Jamaican life will feel right at home with us.
The role will mainly involve caring for my one-year-old for a few hours a day (around 2–4 hours), keeping them engaged, safe, and happy. Since my child is still very young, responsibilities will include simple play, reading, singing, going for walks, and helping with nap or meal times. An important part of the role is speaking French or Spanish to my child, so they are exposed to the language in a natural way. Light support around the child, such as tidying toys or preparing a small snack, may also be included, but the focus will be on spending quality time with my little one in a nurturing and playful environment.
