family of 4. The mother is Chinese and the father is British . We have 2 children , a 4 year old girl who will be starting school soon and a 10 month old boy who is just starting to crawl. Both parents are working as airline pilots. The mother will shortly go back to china for 6-8 months for work reasons and then return to the uk. As a pilot the father works a stable 5 days on 4 days off, so you will also work a stable 5 days on 4 days off ( although sometimes this will be 6 days on, 3 days off) during the work days you will need to be totally independent and be able to look after the children as the father will be away working. However the child’s grandmother and uncle live within 5 minutes walk of the house if there are any problems. We moved back to the U.K. after living in China for many years. In China since having children we always had a live in nanny ( ayi) so are used to having someone live with us. If you wish you can contact our old nanny to ask about our family and if it’s suitable for you.
As mentioned above you will need to work a very stable 5 days on 4 days off. Sometimes 6 days on 3 days off. Basically you will look after the children when the parents are at work. You must be independent and Co rodent with children because you will be looking after them alone. If your working days fall on weekdays you will need to take and pick up yeh oldest from school and provide both children with all meals etc .it will be full time working during the 5 working days, but you then get 4 days off- which is a big plus for working at this family.
