We are an Italian family living in Ferrara, a small and beautiful Renaissance town, not far from Venice and from the seaside. I'm Giada, my husband is Leonardo, and our children are Gregorio, who is three, and Giovanni, who is fifteen months now and will be one year and seven months at the end of August. We are expecting a third baby girl. I am due in October, so we are looking for an au pair from August or September, so that the children will get to know her before the birth of their baby sister. I'll be at home, in maternity leave, until May, and we also have the help of my mother, so the au pair won't be alone to take care of the children. I also hope that Gregorio and Giovanni will be able to go back to the kindergarten by next September (they went until February, when they were closed because of the covid). I'm an English teacher at the high school in Comacchio, a beautiful coastal town fifty km far from Ferrara. We also have a second house at the seaside, where we love to go whenever we can, also in winter, as it has a heating system. My husband is a Telecommunication Professor at the University of Padova, where he usually goes by train every day, or at least he did, before the Covid. Now he works at home. We have a big independent house on three floors. We live on the second and third floor, while on the ground floor we have an apartment that would be completely for the au pair (it was the apartment of my brother-in-law, who has moved, so now the apartment is free). The apartment that will be used by the au pair has a kitchen, a living-room, a bedroom and a bathroom. There is also a small yard where the children sometimes go to play. Our children are really cute and fun, but also manageable. As I said before, they are used to stay with other people besides relatives, since they went (and will go) to the kindergarten and they were really happy to, and they are also used to baby-sitters. I hope I wrote everything important, and I really hope to find an au pair soon, despite this bad situation we all are living.
We hope to find an au pair that will be one of the family. She will help us taking care of the children, maybe sometimes she will take them to the kindergarten. She won't be asked to help us cleaning the house, since we have a lady who comes to clean once a week. I'll be in maternity leave until May and my mother will help us too. She doesn't officially live with us, but she is here at us since she is widow, and she really helps us a lot. The au pair will work mostly during the evening, after the children come from kindergarten, and on the weekends, when the children are at home. She will work for thirty hours a week and she will have a free day, that could be Friday, but once a month it will be Sunday.
