Hi, we are a small family that lives in a nice and osy town called Logrono, La Rioja, which is in the north of Spain. At home we live Ana, mommy, Miguel, daddy, Bimba, a lovely cat, and Mateo, the baby.. Logrono is a quiet and super safe town, but quite alive in certain periods of the year with an amazing bunch of cobbled twined streets within the old city where to enjoy our fantastic gastronomy and to mingle with people from all over the world. Logrono is one of the most important stops of Saint Jmaes way so pilgrims are continually passing by. Besides, Logrono is really well connected to other beautiful cities such as Bilbao, San Sebastian, Vitoria or Zaragoza among others, all of them no more than one hour and thirty minutes away by car. Logrono is very similiar to those cities, but a bit smaller, cheaper, and with better food and wine, that's for sure, since we have the best wine in the world We live in just twenty minutes away on foot from the old town and the city centre. There is a bus stop right next to the house. We live in a flat, which is part of a very big residential unit. Here we have a swimming pool, basketball courts, small concrete football pitches, padel courts, and table tennis tables. It is a quiet place with a huge beautiful park next to it, which has a little man made pond with ducks, perfect to havge a walk or exercise. Besides, there is an astonishing nature reserve fifteen minutes away by bike called La Grajera. Both of us mommy and daddy are civil servants, so our working shifts are very similar, from nine to three. Daddy is an english teacher in primary education and mommy works at the university of La Rioja.
What we expect from our au pair is - To talk to Mateo just in english.. - To play, sing and have walks with Mateo (singing is not compulsory obiously but it would be nice) - to be sociable - to be loving, caring and patient We would also be pleased to teach you as much spanish as possible and we will for sure get you immerged in the spanish culture (gastronomy, traditions, festivities, music...) THE SCHEDULE would be superflexible, but in principle - From Monday to Friday, from nine to twelve thirty. Both mommy and daddy leave to work at nine, so you would have to wait until Mateo wakes up, feed him with breakfast, play with him a little, have a little walk, and by twelve thirty or so, take him to my nana's, where he will have lunch and sleep till daddy picks him up at two or two thirty. - During the evenings, most of them the au pair won't be necessary, and some exceptional evenings a couple of hours to walk and play with Mateo meanwhile dad and mom run some errands will be nice. We are REALLY FLEXIBLE regarding weekeneds, since we know au pairs love travelling around, and LA RIOJA is the perfect place for that. In principle, during the weekends we are not at home (but at my wife's village), so the au pair is not needed, but the au pair is more than welcome to join our plans whenever he-she wants.
