Hello, We are a family of three looking for an au pair for our nine-year old girl (Ariel) and seven-year old boy (Jeremiah) for before and after school and some weekend childcare. We live in Belmont, Massachusetts (close to Cambridge/Boston), and like the area. I (mom) am self-employed. It has lots of educational options, rich history and is great for families and young people. Our preference is a fun-loving female au pair, fluent in English and interested in a two-year term. Responsibilities would include: Caring for the two children while I am working Light housekeeping (children’s dishes, children’s laundry, cleaning, etc.) Preparing healthy meals for the children, creating fun and educational activities (visits to library, park, children's museum, swimming pool, activity/play centers, etc.) Helping to groom children (after bath time at night; wipe off in the morning; styling Ariel’s hair) Ensuring safety, and Caring for the children on Saturdays (with one full weekend off a month; and Sunday off and half-Saturday off typically) Swimming and organizing fun field trips for the kids (a plus) Must be a non-smoker with a decent driving record. Start Date: Between September 14th and October 12th, 2018 Accommodation 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom condo in Belmont, Massachusetts Convenient to public transportation (20 minutes from Harvard Square) ** Lots of educational options near Harvard University, MIT or Boston University Car available for kid’s transportation e.g. weekend extracurricular activities and field trips Other Preferences: Culture: Fluent in English and able to style ethnic hair Family and/or Work Experience: Prefer someone with teaching experience and/or younger siblings and lots of childcare experience Length of Stay: 2 years preferred Other Details: Girl: Ariel (Date of Birth - 9/22/2008) Ariel has a slight language delay (so her language may be closer to an eight-year olds. She has speech therapy at school Loves gymnastics, music, coloring, art, puzzles, ballet, playing dress-up, biking, indoor play centers, Disney World, Disney characters, etc. Sleeps 8-9 hours; does not usually take an afternoon nap No food allergies; sweet tooth, but loves fruits, salad, broccoli, asparagus, carrots, too Boy: Jeremiah (Date of Birth - 1/27/2011) Loves to stay active, reading, music, asking questions, playball, cars, biking, playing dress-up, indoor play centers, Disney World, Spider-Man, etc. Sleeps 9-10 hours No food allergies; loves fruits, salad, carrots Parents: Father (ex-husband) lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Kids typically visit their dad twice a year, in the summer for over a week and for Christmas We have two cars.
