We are a very friendly family of 4: husband, wife, 2 daughters: Daisy (12) & Alice (10) + our golden retriever dog, rabbit and fish. We are looking for a French-speaking au pair. We often have French au pairs over the summer months and our previous au pairs have all enjoyed themselves living with our family. We live in a spacious house in a beautiful village by the sea on the Isle of Wight, a busy and fun resort. The girls and us spend much time outside sailing, paddle boarding, swimming, riding, cycling and walking. It is very social where we live with a vibrant local community, and during the summer, there will be families down from London with their au pairs.
- you will look after our daughters for approx. 20 to 25 hours per week + 2 nights of babysitting - you will work less during the school term (up until end-Jul), then the girls break up for holidays for 6weeks until early-Sep. - you will always have 2 whole days off out of 7 (but we cannot guarantee that these 2 days will always be on the week-end - we will work out the best days for all of us) - you will have your own bedroom for most of the summer. Occasionally, we will have guests to stay and then for those few nights you may need to sleep with the girls or in the study. - access to WiFi - shared meals - I always ask our au pair what sort of food she likes and include that in our weekly food shop - so let me know what you like to eat and we will make sure we buy that food - to help keep the girls rooms / their playroom tidy (with Daisy & Alice's help) and ensure their clothes are clean, and to help my husband and I with keeping the kitchen tidy. We have a cleaning lady who does the cleaning but we try to keep the house tidy when possible! - to speak French to Daisy & Alice; my husband and I / our friends will all speak English with you - to always let us know if you have any problems or concerns - we are an easy-going family and would rather you told us if something is making you unhappy so that we can work out a solution. - pay: £80 per week in cash (as recommended by the UK Govt
