We are a family who have successfully had different au pairs for the last six years. I am a part time primary school teacher and my husband is a surveyor. We need an au pair to help run the house and care for the children whilst we are at work. We also have a gorgeous little dog. Our au pair has their own double bedroom and their own bathroom. We have good WiFi throughout the house. We live on the outskirts of the city of Leeds. There are very good bus links into the town centre from the end of our street. We are also minutes away from the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Leeds is a great city to be an au pair in. It has got all the amenities of a big city but without it being too large. It also has many au pairs for you to make friends with. There is the opportunity to go to language school.
Our au pairs generally need to work for a couple of hours in the morning. This involves making sure that the children are ready for school, doing some light housework and taking the dog for a walk. The rest of the day is free until after school where our youngest child might need collecting (10 minute walk from home). Generally then it is supervising the children and making their dinner. Some evening baby sitting may be required. Generally the weekend is the au pair’s time off - just occasional babysitting on a Saturday night.
