Dear Au Pair, We are looking for a kind and loving au pair who is smiley and happy. We live in Hatfield right next to the station and have had au pairs every year who have enjoyed staying with us and who all keep in touch. My family consists of my husband and I, our football crazy twin boys, 8 and Zidan, another gorgeous 5 year old boy whose cheeky and cute! Looking for someone to start asap whose main job is to organise the kids to and from school, prepare their meals and help around the house with household tasks. We are fun, sociable people. My husband and I both work in London most of the week and may work from home a couple of days a week. Generally, one of us is both there from 5-7pm. Weekends, we like to spend time together as a family doing activities and where we can we like to go out for dinner, movie or see friends/family. He/She needs to be forward thinking and be able to use there initiative to have things organised for the household. We would like our au pair to enjoy playing with the children, cooking, caring for our children and taking the twins to school or activities whilst we are at work. We do not expect you to drive however, we expect you to be able to take the bus to and from places locally. Our boys are well behaved and they love to participate and learn in fun, engaging activities. The boys love our au pairs we have had over the years as they seem to learn so much from them too.
Household duties will include laundry, vacuuming, cleaning and tidying around the house, helping with food shopping, cooking or preparing foods to be cooked by us and clearing and tidying after meals. The boys attend school 5 days a week. Flexibility is greatly appreciated to fit in work and school and we will also be flexible to the time you need. You will need to be hard working, punctual and reliable to ensure that the children are where they are supposed to be and to ensure that all duties are completed. Evening babysitting twice a week can be worked out with you based on any arrangements made for us and yourself. I am a very organised person and like to have an organised house to aid a smooth life. So, I hope you like this too!? We have enjoyed having 4 lovely long-term au pairs now and we look forward to our next one. We also have lovely letters from our past and current au pair who can also tell you what life is really like. We live in a town called Hatfield about 20 minutes train journey just outside of north London. Our nearest airport is London Luton and we can pick you up from the airport. It’s an ideal place as we live surrounded by the countryside yet we can also go into the bustling city when we want. The train station is approximately a 4 minute walk from our house that takes you straight into London Kings Cross. Further north, you can have a 5 minute train journey or 15 min bus journey to Welwyn Garden City. We have local shops about 10 minutes’ walk away, access to scenic walks at the Hatfield House Estate or there are bus links to the lovely city of St Albans where there is also a college for studying English too (if you don’t want to go into London to study).. We live in an accessible area to many places and many au pairs settle here so you will probably make friends really quickly. Feel free to look it up on the internet. At home, you will have your own bedroom with a single bed, single wardrobe a side table and storage. There is no TV in the room, but feel free to bring your laptop/device where we have WIFI that you can connect too at any time. The bedroom is downstairs and you will also have your own bathroom. The kids/guests only use it in the day when they need to go to the toilet! There are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs too. We are fairly healthily eaters and enjoy cooking various cuisines from Mexican, Thai, roast dinners, fish and chips to Italian and Indian. We are happy if you want to cook for the family and we hope that we can enjoy a mixture of meal times with yourself and with the kids. Of course, you are welcome not to join us too if you wish. Our day always starts at 7am when the kids wake up.
