We are an active and lively family of 4 (Jenni, Matt and our two girls Ruby and Ivy) plus Frank the Shih Tzu. We are looking for a responsible, caring and sociable Au Pair to slot into and become part of our busy family. We will do what we can to make your stay an enjoyable one and will help you find activities and other things to do in your spare time that you enjoy so you will hopefully make friends quickly and settle in fast. We enjoy sharing our home - we live in a fairly big house (by British standards) and we can provide you with a large bedroom with double bed with TV& wifi, your own bathroom and a UK mobile phone. If you want to improve your English there is a reasonably priced English close by that we can help you enrol on to. A little about us: - I am Jenni, 39 who is wanting to return to work after a 5 years of staying home to look after the children. I am adventurous, outgoing and sociable, I enjoy running, hiking and skiing. Matt, 38 works in Luxembourg during the week - he usually flies out on a Tuesday and returns on Thursday. Matt loves playing the guitar and keeping fit. Ruby is 10 and attends the village primary school. She goes to Girl Guides and ski's every week at a local indoor slope. She enjoys school and is very well behaved. Ruby has epilepsy (but hasn't had a seizure for over a year) and has ASD but this is very mild. Overall, she is an average happy 10 year old. Ivy i
About our life The children tend to get up at 7.30am. Ruby can get ready for school independently, Ivy needs a little help with getting clean and dressed. They are both at school 9am - 3pm which will be your free time. We will want you to join some local groups so you can meet other friends to develop your own social life. This is very important to us and we can help you with this. We will need you pick Ivy up from school at 3pm, Ruby will walk home from school on her own at 3.15pm and look after them until I get home around 5.30pm. You'll also need to prepare the children's tea - they both have a hot meal at school so this only needs to be a light meal/sandwich. We'll need you to babysit for three or four evenings a week (with one being either a Friday or Saturday) We'd also like you to do some light house work, including laundry, keeping the house tidy and ironing. We do have a cleaner who cleans the whole house once a week – so it is only really keeping the house tidy. You will have free time during the day while the children are at school, every Saturday and Sunday (unless we have agreed babysitting for the Saturday evening) and the rest of the evenings. We can provide a full time table but broadly we need to to look after the children before and after school. This 7.30am until 9am and 3pm – 5.30pm and some evening babysitting. As an Au Pair we won't expect you to be working for more than 35 hours a week. If we need you to do more hours we will talk to you about this and agree payment.
