Single parent family with two young boys, 1 year old and a 4 year old. We live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne city. I'm fairly laid back, as long as my boys are happy all is good. They both enjoy playing with their cars and trucks or reading books when inside. Equally they love playing outside, running and playing ball games. They are both gentle and affectionate boys. I encourage manners and empathy in them. I have previously spent 5 years as an au pair in Ireland, so understand what it's like to live in someone else's home. I will do everything I can to make you feel welcome and part of our family. Communication and honesty are very important so there is mutual trust and respect.
Required 3 days a week (this would allow you to work another job if you wish). Primary care will be for mostly my 1 year old. Only three days a week as he is in childcare two days a week. My 4 year old is in daycare 5 days a week at the moment, so just a bit of help with breakfast and organising in the morning with him is all. I don't expect you to do heavy house work. However I do expect that you clean up after yourself and when on duty you clean up after the boys. Also keep their play room tidy. Your welcome to cook family meals, but no expectation to do so. On occasion I may need you to cook a small meal for the boys, but will have all ingredients and let you know.
