Hi, we are a family of 5 plus dog, living in London. Our children are Lottie, who is 10yrs, Joey, 8yrs and Abi who is 5yrs. It’s a lively, very busy household with lots going on so we are looking for someone who likes to get involved, who is energetic and can be playful with the kids. Our youngest Abi has down syndrome which means that she has various development delays but that doesn’t seem to affect her cheekiness and very fun nature. She is a true joy to be around. We look forward to hearing from anyone who fancies the idea of coming to live with us and help out with the children, in the mornings pre-school, after school, light household duties and dog-walking. Please get in touch if this sounds like a position you may fancy and tell me what appeals to you. About us We live in Queens Park / Brondesbury Park, a leafy area of North-west London. Within 10 minutes’ walk we have cafes, bars, a great independent cinema, restaurants and shops and a lovely park. We have good transport links, buses, trains and the tube, its takes just 20 minutes to get into the west end of London by tube. We are lucky enough to have a wonderful house and big garden and the au pair will have her own room and en suite shower-room. We have 2 girls and a boy. Our eldest daughter - Lottie - is 10yrs, she always has a lot to say for herself, a lively chatterbox, who enjoys school, gymnastics, football, netball. Next is Joey who is 8, he is a very energetic member of the family and talks and plays a lot of football! He also enjoys tennis and playing his drums! Our youngest is Abi, she is 5yrs,
Expectations Hours will tend to be the same each week, which would be a few hours in the mornings and then again in the afternoon : 7.30 - 10 and then 3.30 - 6.30. However I am keen for someone to be relatively flexible and we are always happy to pay extra for any additional hours. We would also like 2 x babysitting per week, ideally one of these being a weekend night, usually a Saturday night. Tasks for Au Pair would be something like this : Help get the children ready in the morning, help with household duties such as washing, dish-washer etc, help with school drop off and pick ups when needed, help with walking the dog (generally twice or 3 times per week). On days Natasha is working (3 days) have sole charge of the 3 children after school, and the rest of the week to assist Natasha with the children. This will involve picking up children from school, making them supper, ensuring homework is being done, taking / picking up from after school activities and supervising play dates with other children. Then bathing children and getting them ready for bed. During the week the children tend to be quite busy, but they do also at times require some entertaining, so we are keen on an au pair who is happy to come up with ideas if activities, whether it's football, trampolining, in the garden, or arts and crafts, cooking inside, or taking them out to the park. The au pair will be responsible for the washing of clothes, folding up, and putting away. She would also empty dishwasher. We like to keep the house tidy and clean. We do have a cleaner for the main cleaning, but would like the au pair to help with keeping the children's rooms tidy, and the general areas like the kitchen and lounge tidy. We would like someone who likes dogs, our dog is a small brown cocker spaniel, who likes a lot of attention and stroking! On the 3 days when Natasha works we'd like the au pair to take her for a walk, and help out on the occasional other days, if needed. Weekends would be free apart from babysitting. Like most au pair positions we would like to have 2 baby sittings per week, which would generally include 1 Saturday night and midweek night. We'd like our au pair to enjoy being with children, to have the patience that is needed with children, particularly one with special needs. Because Abi is our youngest and also has special needs, it's likely that the au pair will spend more time with her than the older 2. Abi is incredibly loving, cheeky and good fun, but having Down syndrome does mean she is developmentally delayed and we would be keen on an au pair who is able to be patient with her and assist her when required. We would like someone who, is reliable, responsible, fun but also strict at times when necessary. We'd also like someone who is prepared to commit for the next 12 months Please do get in touch if this sounds of interest.
